How to Log on to the Internet ?
How can I tell if I am Online & Connected to the Internet ?
How to Disconnect my phone line connection from the Internet or log off the
Internet ?
HOW
TO LOG ON TO THE INTERNET ?
Log onto the Internet by:

Double Clicking
Internet Explorer Icon on your desktop
|
OR
|

Double Clicking
shortcut to InterCape dialer on your desktop
|
Your InterCape
dialer should look similar to this:
Press CONNECT
button
You will see the
following screens while logging in:

Dialing the local
dialup number you have programmed into your dialer
|
|

|
Verifying your
Username / Password to ensure you are a valid InterCape subscriber
|
|

|
STATUS:
Username/Password authenticated successfully.
LOGGED ON.
|
|
This dialog box
will shrink & move to the lower right hand corner your computer by
your clock – this is commonly referred to: ‘2 Little Computers’
|
NOTICE: the little computers at the
lower right side of your screen by the clock.
This shows you that you are ONLINE & Connected to the Internet
HOW CAN I TELL IF I AM ONLINE &
CONNECTED TO THE INTERNET ?
You can tell if you are Online &
Connected to the Internet if you see the 2 little computers in the lower right
hand by the clock.

Two little computers located in the
lower right hand corner of your screen by your clock.
This means you are currently logged onto
the Internet
|
|
|
If you put the mouse over the Two little
computers, information about your connection will display.
This says that I am connected at @49333
bps
|
HOW TO DISCONNECT MY PHONE LINE &
LOG OFF THE INTERNET ?

|
Double click the Two little computers
and the following dialog box will pop up
|
|
|
Choose DISCONNECT button
Your phone line & dialup connection
will be disconnected from the Internet.
|
REMEMBER & VERY
IMPORTANT !
To Surf the Web or Send / Receive Email,
you must be Online & Connected to the Internet –
in short, you must see the 2 little computers in the lower right hand corner by
clock as shown below:

if
you do not see the 2 little computers, then you are not Online or Connected to
the Internet.
You will not be able
to Surf the Web or Send/Receive Email until you Log on to the Internet
